Home was pretty awesome.
I showed my boyfriend as much scenery as I possibly could within the day and a half that we had. Unfortunately, most of those days were spent sleeping in bed (the first night totally screwed us over as my friends and I spent it drinking until 4AM with my boyfriend accepting his role as the DD). I did take him to Johnston’s Canyon to see the lower falls.
And we had a bit of time before our reservation at the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant in Canmore so, I took him around to see the Bow Falls and we took a picture with Rundle Mountain (and the Falls but, I like this photo better).
Also, in a great stroke of luck, we got to see a mother black bear and her three cubs up on our way to Norquay. Throughout our trip we got to see mountain goats, bighorn sheep, some elk and some deer too. How awesome is that?
All in all, I think my boyfriend enjoyed his first time in the Rockies. He says he wants to go back so we’ll be planning our next trip soon. Next time I want to take him to Radium Hot Springs in British Columbia and maybe to Lake Louise.
Speaking of DD’s, apparently in Banff there’s this program where DD’s get at least one free non-alcoholic beverage at a bar, etc… I thought that was pretty cool. DD’s are doing a great deed for the people who are drinking, as well as, those who are driving sober on the road. Awesome program!
